1. Our approach
This notice applies to the Qstamp website at qstamp.org. The website does not use cookies for advertising, analytics or tracking, and it contains no third party analytics, advertising or social media trackers. It uses only the items described in this notice.
Quantova Inc is responsible for this website. The Privacy Policy explains how we process personal data more generally.
2. Cookies and similar technologies
Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser. Similar technologies include the local storage of your browser and scripts that send information from your device. Under the ePrivacy Directive in the European Union and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations in the United Kingdom, storing information on your device, or reading information from it, requires your consent unless it is strictly necessary to provide a service you have requested.
3. Strictly necessary security cookies
Our servers are protected by Cloudflare, Inc, which acts as our processor. When Cloudflare checks a request for automated abuse, it may set a strictly necessary security cookie in your browser for this website, such as the following.
- __cf_bm helps Cloudflare to distinguish people from automated traffic. It expires after 30 minutes of inactivity.
- cf_clearance records that your browser has passed a security check, so that the check is not repeated. It remains valid for the limited period set in our Cloudflare configuration.
These cookies are not used for advertising or to track you across websites. Because they are strictly necessary to protect the website, they do not require consent. You can block them in your browser, but Cloudflare may then check your requests again or refuse access.
4. Your consent choice
Your choice in the cookie notice is kept in the local storage of your browser under the key qs-consent, with the value accepted or declined. It contains no identifier, it is never sent to us and it is used only to remember your choice. Because it is needed to respect your choice, it does not require consent.
5. Audience measurement
Each page loads a short first party script from our own servers. The script reads your consent choice and sends nothing unless the value is accepted. If you have accepted, when you leave or hide a page, it sends to our server the path of the page and the length of time it was open. Visits of less than one second are not sent.
Our server works out the country from the IP address of the request and adds the measurement to aggregate totals by country. The script sets no cookie and assigns no identifier. Because it sends information from your device, it runs only with your consent.
6. Processing that uses nothing on your device
Some processing uses only the data that every request carries and stores nothing on your device. The language of the first page you see is chosen from the country of the request, which Cloudflare supplies, or from the language preference sent by your browser, and that choice is not stored.
Our servers keep logs of requests, and our internal security and traffic monitoring system works from those logs. This processing takes place whatever choice you make in the cookie notice, as described in the Privacy Policy.
7. What we do not use
- advertising or marketing cookies
- third party analytics
- social media plugins or trackers
- fonts, scripts or other resources loaded from third party servers
- techniques that identify your device across websites
The Ask Qstamp assistant works entirely within the page and sends nothing to any server.
8. Changing your choice
The cookie notice appears on your first visit. Accept becomes available only after you tick the box to confirm that you have read this notice and the Privacy Policy. If you decline, or make no choice, no measurement is sent and the website works in the same way.
You can change your choice at any time with Cookie settings at the foot of every page. You can also clear the local storage of your browser for this website, after which the notice appears again. If you withdraw consent, no further measurements are sent. Measurements sent earlier form part of aggregate totals that cannot be linked to you. Most browsers also let you block or delete cookies in their settings.
9. External websites
Links to external websites, such as GitHub and npm, are followed only when you choose to follow them. Those websites set their own cookies under their own policies.
10. Changes and contact
We will publish any change to this notice on this page with a new effective date. Questions can be sent to [email protected].
